I didn't think of doing this because Quantum had dropped the Z from
their line ... but I just Googled it and found a shop with Sanyo
replacement batteries for $60 installed ... wonder if they have the
'memory effect' and similar recharge times?

Usually B&H will have an early link to new products so you can
pre-order or get on the 'notify me when in stock' email list, or at
least they do this for hot selling new cameras ... so that's why I was
asking.

Quantum does it for $78.
They'll check everything while they have it.

Many companies announce products well in advance of actual
availability.
Quantum doesn't do that.
