Was this on a tripod? If not I don't know how you can handhold 1/30 at
400mm.

Tripods are for wimps!  I used a monopod for the deer shots. The Spike
pic shows what happens when you try shooting 1/15 @ 400mm handheld.

Hey, I really like the deer photos. I live in KY, and still see them in
the city here. Its like, "Poof" they are here, the they are gone.
