Hello,
I will be cycling in Europe and am looking for a slim digital camera
that will fit into my bike jersey pocket. I am looking at the Casio
EX-S600 as wll as the Nikon Coolpix S 4 or 5. I am open for
suggestions. The camera needs to be thin and light. I think the
features I am most interested in are 3X Optical Zoom, 6 mega pixel and
Image Stabilization. Do any of the slim camera's have Image
Stabilization? I would like to keep the price within the $300.00 or so
dollar range.

Thank you in advance.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 may fit your bill:

and for more zoom range, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 might be of interest:

Make sure it has a viewfinder as well as LCD.

The Pentax Optio WP doesn't have image stabilization, but it is thin, light and
waterproof to 1.5M. I carry one when I'm flyfishing and it is a nice little
camera; no viewfinder but I've not had any trouble composing shots with the LCD
even in bright sunlight.

Check the A series Canons, not the smallest or the lightest but very
nice image quality for reasonable price. The A5xx are the smallest 2 AA
batteries, but also only go to 4mp. The A6xx are a little heavier but 4
AAs gives faster zoom and focus. Bought my son, also a bicyclist the
5mp A610 and he is very happy with it. He rides with a chopper bicycle
group, I'm look foward to seeing some pics of this.

I find my Nikon Coolpix slips easily into the back pocket of my lycra
cycling jersey. It takes excellent pictures.

So far I'm most interested in the Canon SD600 and the Casio EXS600
based on my limited understanding of the specs.  Both are ultraslim
models.  Any thoughts on these cameras? Has anyone looked at photos
from both?
