Oh, the depths I go to for my fans!
I think you'll like this one I took today with
the Totally Discontinued 20D:

If you don't like this pic, you probably don't like your own grandma.

Shooting jellyfish in a tank is about as tough as catching starving fish at
a hatchery...

:)
Pretty though...

True dat.  The only tough part was holding my breath.

Better dry out that non-sealed 20D right quick...

Exquisite shot.
Looks like it's moving through space!

Yeah.  Also, if you have had a few beers, it looks like the starship
enterprise (if you squint a bit).

No, I like it very much.
See mine too.

Wow.  A friend of mine shoots a lot of underwater stuff but this is the
best of that type I've ever seen.  I have read that there are visual
similarities between the medium to small in nature and the extremely
large in nature such as the deep space images that appear in print now
and then.  The white spots in this shot look like stars and make me
think of some of those space images.
Wow.

Thanks, but I must confess .... I had a day of practice.

That's what I liked about it, too.  I think I'll try getting this one
printed on backlight film and buy (or make) a lightbox for it.
Has anyone here ever displayed their photos this way?  I could use some
tips.

So your grandpa is a jellyfish?
Mark's is a gorilla, according to rumor.
We're going to be getting into an area we probably don't want to get
near, here.

My daddy was the family bassman
My mamma was an engineer
And I was born one dark gray morn
With music coming in my ears

Yes, very good. I'm trying to figure out the lighting. It looks lit from
within.

Yes.  Gettin that sucker to swim around with the 550EX flash was the
real trick.

Actually, the tank the jellyfish are in is probably about 10' long and
6' high.  However, it is probably only about a foot or two thick so the
jellyfish are always close to the glass.  The lights are positioned out
of sight, above and below the tank illuminating the sea nettles against
a nice dark background. As PW says, it's like shooting fish in a
barrel.

Very nice and I bet it hurts worse when it stings than a nettle patch.
