Thanks. I did try that one, but the heads are still chopped.
Maybe a setting I am missing?

How are you getting the pictures out of Picasa and into the other
printing programs?

Just selecting them from the directory they are in.

Do you realize that any edits you made in Picasa (e.g., cropping) will
not be applied, in that case? Picasa never updates the original file.
You need to save or export the pictures to a new file to get a picture
with the edits applied.

Didn't realize that; thanks for pointing out.
Happy New Year to all!

Try turning off auto crop in Qimage.
From the help file.
Note that when "Crop to Size" is turned on (scissors button depressed),
you have given Qimage permission to crop some of the image to force it
to fill the entire frame. Qimage will automatically default to cropping
out the exact center of the image. If you would like to crop a different
section of the image instead of accepting the default center cropping,
you can easily move the crop for each print using the cropping tool on
the page editor (see example 3a in the Learn by Example section) or even
create a multi-purpose crop that is placed on the image itself and
applies to multiple print sizes (see example 11 in the Learn by Example
section of the help).

Thanks. Suppose I should have read it!

You are probably missing the fact that you are printing a different aspect
ratio than the original image is. So you have to either crop one side of
have white space on the short side. Qimage has a setting to select either.
Select the size tab in the right hand pane. Right above the tab is a
scissors button. Toggling this changes from autocropping from "Crop to
Size" (button down) to "Fit in Frame" (button up). You want Fit in Frame.

You're welcome. Qimage's interface takes a bit to get used to, but I
believe it's worth the effort. Take a look at the learning by example
section of the help file. Best place to start to figure out how to do
something.
