Bret can you explain the "Where I Work and Where I Play" pic?

It's the building where I currently work and the golf course where I
used to work (play).  While it looks like they are very close to each
other, they are actually over a mile apart.

Whew! I thought the golf course might be your home! Seems like you live
in a nature preserve sometimes.

So you getting a 5D?

Nope.  I rather enjoy the 1.6x mag factor of the 20D.

Well... I have not done any calculations, but you probably can crop a 5D
picture with 1.6 and get the same amount of pixels... If not 100% true,
it's not totaly wrong either.

True enough, but I have to weigh what I'd gain with the 5D against what
it would cost.  To me, there isn't that much improvement going from the
20D to the 5D.  Now for someone still using a 10D or a D60, I'd
recommend the upgrade.  I'd rather jump to the 1D MKII N for the speed
or the 1Ds MKII for the pixel count.  Even if I did have the cash for
the 5D, I'd probably use it to buy better glass since that's where the
real improvements in quality lie.

And for that answer you get a full 10 points.

:)

That's true. I bought the 20D because of the speed (5 frames/seconds). 5D is
a bit slower. However, if I should buy a new house now, it would be a 5D.
The 20D I bought in January this year will probably be worn out in 3
years...

The reason to get the 5D is the 12MP at slightly lower noise. If he doesn't
need that combination just now, he's better off waiting. That performance
will only get cheaper.

Tsk, tsk, trsk... Gary,
Shame on you. You're supposed to look at: Sandhill Cranes in Flight, not
Where I work and Where I play  ;-)))))
Have you seen Moon Rise?
Take care,
Marcel
