True enough, but I have to weigh what I'd gain with the 5D against what
it would cost. To me, there isn't that much improvement going from the
20D to the 5D. Now for someone still using a 10D or a D60, I'd
recommend the upgrade. I'd rather jump to the 1D MKII N for the speed
or the 1Ds MKII for the pixel count. Even if I did have the cash for
the 5D, I'd probably use it to buy better glass since that's where the
real improvements in quality lie.

That's true. I bought the 20D because of the speed (5 frames/seconds). 5D is
a bit slower. However, if I should buy a new house now, it would be a 5D.
The 20D I bought in January this year will probably be worn out in 3
years...

The reason to get the 5D is the 12MP at slightly lower noise. If he doesn't
need that combination just now, he's better off waiting. That performance
will only get cheaper.
