I have images/video on my cable DVR box that I want to end up on my computer
in any format. AVI/MPG/MOV, I don't care...I can edit and change when it's
there. I have an output on my DVR box of course but have the slightest idea
where to find or install an input on my computer. Do I need a special
capture card or some kind of device I guess? I have a high end 256mb video
card...but I don't think it captures. Any suggestions for throwing video on
my computer WITHOUT affecting the quality or slowing it down? I thought this
may be the place to ask, since it's all about digital photo. Or maybe point
me in the right direction...
Thanks!

One way is to use an interfacte box between the analog output of the DVR and a USB port on
your computer. Info on one such is at
http://www.adstech.com/products/USBAV_701/intro/usb701intro.asp?pid=USBAV701.
It comes with software to convert the digitized file to various formats for saving in your
computer and/or recording on a DVD.

Hi Lepper...
Should it be at all helpful, I use an ATI All in Wonder
video card...
Take care.
