Hi,

Recently my Panasonic FZ20 battery keeps loosing it's charge whislt
off.  I thought may be the battery had died so bought a new battery and
the same thing happens.  It charges fine, and works fine, but if I turn
off the camera and come back to it the next day the battery is dead,
and ideas?

Thanks

battery fault or camera fault? I don't know the cam personally so
can't really comment but if you lack responses in here try posting in
rec.photo.digital as it is a busier group

Bryan,

If a new battery has the same problem, it does sound as if the camera
might be at fault - as if it is not turning off properly.  I suppose you
could try leaving a fully-charged battery out for 24 hours before putting
it in the camera, to see if either the battery self-discharge is great, or
if it isn't really getting charged, despite the indications.

Are you sure the camera is actually switching off when you turn the
switch?
Any chance the switch is being turned on again when you store the camera?
Could you try a "reset all" function?  Yes, a bit desparate, I know.

Cheers,
David
