I have the Sony DSC H1 and would like to get a UV filter or some other filter for the sole purpose of being able to walk around with the camera ready to shoot - but keep the lens protected. Does anyone know what mm filter is needed? Ebay seems to have filters with adapters rather than just a filter and I don't understand that so I'm confused. TIA Louise The H1, H2 & H5 uses a 58 mm filter; also note that it is attached to the "adaptor" that came with the camera & not to the lens itself. Another purpose of "adaptors" is using filters that don't fit onto your camera. I understand that many owners leave the Sony "adaptor" on the camera as the tube also protect the lens somewhat & that the "sun shade" will always be available when needed. Believe that's what the filter & other items will be attached.
