Hardly. I am always pleased when a manufacturer acknowledges a problem and
offers to correct it, rather than trying to hide it or claim that it doesn't
exist.
> Please add this Canon problem to your website (eg: show a fit of
objectivity).
It was added the day after the press release. I am working to keep my web
site completely objective, unlike your posts.

This doesn't appear to be a problem with the body, but with the grip, at
least according to the press release. So I don't know where you come up with
the idea that the people that have a vertical grip will be without their
cameras for up to two months (though accuracy has never been your strong
point!).
> And add a bit about back focus issues as well.
What issues would these be?

Bwahshssh! Oh cripes that hurt. Look behind you, is anyone dressed
all in white chasing you?

Repairs on Nikon equipment are variously reported to take 2 weeks to 2
months depending on where and what.

Various posts refer.

Yeah right, objective???? You have no understanding of the word Steven, that
makes makes you either very stupid or it means you have an agender, which is
it. Even the data on your site is inconsistent and only gives some of the
information that is available, not surprising that it all highlights whatYOU
think is important and you fail to understand that posting in a group where
most of the people already have their camera system in place will not win
you friends when you constatntly bag out the equipment that they are using
and getting great results from. I am sure even the Canon people are sick of
you, they just want to take photos.

I meant Canon there. OTOH I have heard both glorious and woeful tales
regarding Nikon warranty service.
Cheers,
Alan.

Yeah... While we're at it lets start a Minolta 7D page and list all their
faults - like the 3 months it takes to get a warranty claim for faulty
flash fire fixed. Or the tethered performance about on par with a Kodak
where none of the functions are accessable. Maybe someone ought to start
recording the faults in all the Minolta 7Ds? -- both of them! Christ... I
had one for a day and despite the reliability of my Canons, I'd have Canon
before a Minolta in heartbeat.

Good points. I would add something about service issues, but without enough
data, it wouldn't be objective to do so. I know about the issues with Nikon
U.S.A. servicing non-U.S.A. products, and I have personal experience with
getting a grey-market Canon film camera serviced (while I waited) in the
U.S.. This is the first I've heard about Minolta service issues, but I think
because it isn't in widespread use we don't hear much about it. Using Usenet
posts to gauge service reputation is not going to fly, unless there are
massive numbers of reports of the same problem (i.e. the BG-E2 grip
problems). Alan can afford to be biased like that, but I don't want to
jeopardize the objective reputation of my web site.

He has to be the most delusional troll I have ever seen here. He just does
not get it at all.

"objective reputation of my web site"
You must be kidding - - - ROTFL
About the only thing I am expecting to appear there any minute is the
"Nordic Group Best Buy Award". That would really complete its "objective
reputation" - - - not!!

Steven,
I agree with Bob. Your 'objectivity' is long, long gone. Suddenly problems
with Canon can't be put on your site, but any other vendor is fair game.
How much is Canon paying you? Better be a lot to completely sell out.

What are you talking about? I added the BG-E2 problem to my site the day
after Canon announced the service campaign. I have included both pros and
cons of all the cameras on my site, including Canon.
> How much is Canon paying you? Better be a lot to completely sell out.
Surely you can come up with something less stupid than that statement, but
then again maybe not.
Try to look beyond defending whatever particular piece of gear you have
chosen to purchase, and don't get upset with web sites and/or people, that
do not hesitate to state both the good and bad attributes of specific
equipmnent.

Good for you. I've in fact listed what I consider shortcomings of the
7D: http://www.aliasimages.com/Max7Drev.htm and I'm adding to both the
positives and negatives as a I go along.
What do you mean by "tethered"? If you mean shooting controlled from a
computer, no it's not very good for that beginning with it's short USB
cable. If the cable could be 15 or even 10 feet long it would be great
to use a laptop as storage in lieu of the Flash. IAC not much of an
issue for me and I doubt it's of much of an issue for very many 7D users.
I've had no problems with the camera at all, I just wish it were more
like the Maxxum 9 than the Maxxum 7. Also wish it was full frame.
Warranty repair? In 11 years of Minolta Maxxum ownership I've had a
single failure of a flash unit. Out of warranty. Repaired no charge
and returned in less than a week. Cost me S&H of less than $10.00.
Cheers,
Alan.

Also sorry if I seem as if I think this Steven whats his name is complete

Thats just my opinion though of course.
