Hi Slack,

Got these sites back from folks at TalkPhoto (Digital Photography
concerning lens comparison/evaluations.

Best,

www.photozone.de has both user surveys (take with large grain of salt)
and summaries of magazines type tests/reviews.

www.photodo.com has technical data but has not bueen updated in the last
couple years.  You have to fix the graph links by replacing the IP with
the website name.

I like http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Default.aspx if
you're going to buy Canon and stick with it.  Have you decided on the
D70 or 350D yet?

Looks like my post from the other day didn't show up....

Man, I played with one yesterday and really, really liked it. Liked it so
much I
drove out to Canoga after work today... sorry, we'll have to hook up for
Zankou
another time.

It was a nice little shopping spree:

And a Canon bag, two UV filters.

I think I did enough damage to my checking acct for awhile, but I
stoked... been
wanting a camera for decades!

Nice stuff.  I assume we'll be seeing samples on a.m-b soon although
the weather looks like crap for the weekend.

Hope you made it by Zankou, I'm stuck at work anyway, although I could
have hit the Glendale Zankou for lunch.

Have fun.  I've spent way too much on camera stuff this year, it's like
crack.  When I asked MattB on a.m-b for concert taping info he told me
I'd get addicted if I got started with it, I bought some minimal
equipment, taped one show, and realized it wasn't for me.  But digital
photography?  I can't get enough of it.

Oh yeah, I got a Lowepro Offroad bag and it's worked great for hiking.
For riding I usually wrap the camera and throw it in the top of my
Camelback.  The XT is smaller than the original Rebel so it will fit
even better.
