Live View is a significant addition to the professional DSLR shooter's
arsenal. It is a
terrific problem-solver for all those situations in which it would be
awkward, difficult or
impossible to look through the viewfinder to compose, meter and shoot.

Go get the camera, mount a heavy lens on it, hold it over your head,
straight armed, look at the LCD, or attempt to, and get back to us...

Only on a web camera to show to the little friends he meets in chat rooms.

Oh the sad bleating of the luddites.  Perfectly content to tell why
10fps instead of 8.5 is a massively important step forward, but too
stupid to figure out that live view might represent an equal or better
advantage in certain situations.

Sounds like you need yours more than I do mine.

Live View shouldn't be equated with what people consider the "EVF."
Canon's implementation is significantly more pointed in its purpose than a
vewfinder replacement.

The better question:
Will you ever buy your first DSLR?  -Or will you simply spend the rest of
your life not only being an a.s...but also talking out of yours.
