IMO I think these shots are more a representation of the lens than the
camera.  Forget the D200.  Just proves many old Nikon lenses are fantastic.

That's about as true as saying the type of film you use doesn't
matter...just stick a good lens on, and ANY old film will do.  In the
digital world...the camera IS the film.  In other words...  Don't forget the
D200.  It matters.

It's a fine lens, but I've shot with it with an F100, F3HP and D70, and I've
never had more satisfactory results than with the D200, which combined the
mirror lock up of the F3HP with the ease of no cost repeatability and
instant results of digital.  Additionally, the D200 is one hell of a camera.
Really.  Nikon has nothing to compare to it in its price range, and hasn't
since I started buying around 1995, inflation considered and all.
