Ahhhh... thank you.
It's easier for me to email batches of small pictures(JPEGs) of the kids
to family without converting each one...or are you going to tell me there's
another way to do this as well?

The NEF has a couple JPEGs embedded in it already - you could just
extract them, which is faster than converting (although probably not
really on a one-off basis; it really makes a difference in batches). If
you're shooting anything short of a D200 or D2X, the embedded JPEG is
the same quality & size as the RAW+JPG Basic setting.

I prefer shooting RAW and extracting (faster) or converting (better
quality), as it gets me ~15% more shots per card - on a 2GB card @ 6MP
that's 35-50 more shots.
