Well, unfortunately, this is not a test group.

You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a
reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating
the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for
independence.

Might I suggest you try:

alt.test
alt.alt.test
rec.test
misc.test
comp.test
biz.test

until you have your problem figured out?

Sometimes the problem is in posting to the NG of interest.

Sure, but to avoid being flamed I suggest the more devious route of an
innocuous on-topic post.

You see, this _might_ be a test post, but you would never know.

When I need to do a test I just post to the NG of interest.  Always gets
a few puritans up on their haunches.  They can never answer the NG
specific test reply.  Bwahahaahhaaha , eh, sigh.

We now resume normal programming.

Cheers,
Alan

Exactly.  I cannot beleive how finnick some people get about on and off
topic here.  The sort of people who would suggest lightmeters were off
topic here as they were not specific to 35mm...

Argh!

I suggest:

At least before digital, cable, satelite all decided to fill the blank bits
with crap phone in (pay per minute) quizes.  Bring back the test card I
say!

That pattern frequently gave me pains in the neck.

In other words, I'd wake up with that staring me in the face, a high
pitched whine from the tube, and realize I'd better go to bed....
