As mentioned by madhobbit, a fine fellow, to be sure, many people keep daily
photo diaries. They take a picture every day, usually with the goal of doing
it every day for a year. We see this called Project 365, Photo 365, Photo A
Day, etc.

I have been calling this practice a "phlog" for many years. It is a
contraction of "photo" and "log," similar to "blog." I am disappointed that
the word I invented has not been more widely adopted. :-)

(Yes, I know that several web sites have started using the term, but almost
none of them before the beginning of 2006, and not near enough. I want the NY
Times, guys. CNN. Right now, nothing on Google News. Just the few web sites I
mentioned.)

The NY Times and CNN are not interested in recording facts. Isn't this off
topic anyway?

I just looked up phlog in wikipedia.  Apparently they are a race of
peaceful giants living on the plant Genesia in the Star Wars universe. :-)

Also Flog means to whip a person painfully.

Yeah. Gets blood on the camera, though.
