Nice find.  This really isn't that uncommon or unusual as you are starting
to see more and more pros that want to get the most from their Canon bodies
switching to Nikon glass.  Even with the loss of AF and IS most find this
route very rewarding.  The L lenses are great for general purpose, but
there's no beating an old Nikkor on a Canon pro body for absolutely stunning
images.
