I broke the lens hood for the 18-70 kit lens on my Konica Minolta (now
Sony).  It was made of hard plastic and attached via a reversible
bayonet fitting on the outside of the lens rather than on the filter
thread.  Does anyone know where I could get a replacement, preferably
in the UK?

No, but I can sell you a new lens really cheap :-)

A really good camera shop will should have a variety of hoods available. I
lost my hood, and the local camera shop had several hoods that fit a D200.
