I'm using the trial version of C NX (recently got my D80 + 24-120D VR) and I
can't seem to find if it has a cosmetic correction function like the eraser
or the clone tools in PSE4, that I also have.
Any help much appreciated.

The Nikon Capture tools are not meant to be replacements for
Photoshop/Photopaint like tools. It's a tool to do RAW processing
en enhancement, so it is limited in tools.
(Most manipulation tools are not available in the Nikon Capture tools).

Adobe has released a beta update for the Camera Raw plug-in that will work
with D80 raw files and I presume Elements 4.
I have been playing with Nikon NX for a while and in some ways I prefer it
to the Adobe raw converter, but it is in no way a substitute for a full
image processing program.
However I find I have been doing less CS2 processing once images are handed
off from NX to CS2 than I often do after passing images from the Adobe raw
converter to CS2.
NX is also a resource hog. I found that with less than 2gbs of memory it was
too painfully slow to have NX, CS2 and Adobe bridge open simultaneously.
The price of NX is kind of high for what really is the equivalent of a
Photoshop plug-in. For Nikon only users it is probably a better investment
than Dx0, Bibble et al. Camera Raw doesn't do much for me either.
