Forgive me if I am overstepping the boundaries posting this her. Im new
to Groups.

I am writing to let you know of a new Photography Forum I have started
to help everybody from the seasoned Professional to the Amateur first
picking up a camera. Covering everything from weddings to Landscapes
and everything in between.

I have started a forum on my website at www.photography-forum.org .
It's quite basic at the moment but I feel it has all the necessary
sections to help most photographers. There is a suggestions page that
hopefully will let me know what people want. We currently have 650
members and the forum has over 150 new messages per day.

I started my career as have many other "pro" photographers I know
at the local camera club. Then went to college and gained the
qualifications I needed.

I have now been a professional photographer for 8 years and I remember
first starting on my journey into photography. I had loads of questions
but nobody to ask them. I read as much as I could but most of the
magazines used to cover the same topics over and over again.

I was lucky I managed to assist a professional photographer for a
couple of years before I "Took the Plunge". It's the best move I
have ever made.

There is no registration fee or monthly subscription I am doing this
purely because business has given me and my family so much that I
thought it was time to put something back in. Sounds a bit corny but
it's the truth.

I am trying to get as many "like minded people" into the forum so
we can share our knowledge and experiences and hopefully all improve.

Please have a look at the forum and maybe, if you like it recommend it
to your colleagues. I hope it is of help.

You got 650 members and you're only getting 150 messages per day?
Somethings not right with that.

I've got 356 members on my forum and since the beginning of August we
have got over 14,500 posts (more than 200 per day, which is close to
rivalling some usenet forums).

We also gave away a $50 B&H GiftCard to the winner of our first
challenge.

recieving trophies etc - all the winners are going to be announced in a
"LIVE" forum awards night.

O and the post copunt is now over 50,000.

Please if youget chance take a look - its not your every day forum for
ego stroking and the big I AM.

Thanks.

The trouble with nikongear is that it does not emphasize photos taken with
Nikon gear at all.
People post old stuff they have found on the internet and just plain old
snapshots if they have some shock or troll value.

If you are NOT one of the inner circle guys on that forum, your photos will
be blown up x500 and the edges looked at for excessive sharpening in order
to provide a critical comment.

To be fair, they have some pretty good soft porn that you will not find on
other forums.

No shortage of Nikon forums out there:  nikonians, nikonlinks, nikoncafe and
the Nikon sections of photo.net, fredmiranda, and dpreview

Reading all these will cut into your photography time.  A once a week sample
of some of them is enough for me.

As the editor I am working on that everyday. Stay tuned. Things are
about to change.

Not true.

What rubbish. Are you Tony Beach?

There is no porn at Nikongear. There is a nude section, but if you can't
tell the difference then I guess it's not the place for you.

What we strive for at the NEF is open, honest discussion without the
heavy handed moderation and censorship that you will find at every other
forum site.
