Any opinions as to whether to upgrade to the 400 or not.  Or is there
anything better out there for the same value.

Thanks

from 350? nope. I think it's not worthed. IF you insist, rather upgrade to
used 20D.

could be...it's definitely worthed to do a homework and do an intense searh
about all models you "could" buy with your budget. I did so and i'm not for
a second sorry for what i bought...

20D is a very nice camera, lot to like about it.

in fact, i bought 30D, i just suggested 20D for price reasons... since i
guess it would be comparable with new 400D...
at the end i've had to choose between 400 and 30---but holding them
both...and decision fell.

Yeah, the specs of the Digital Rebels are impressive until you actually
see and hold the cameras. They have lousy build quality and ergonomics.
Now the 30D is beautiful ...

well, from specs, even 350 and 400 are quite decent. It's just...as you
said...build quality, small, like holding my old S2 in my hands...so, no
thanks.
30 is still a beauty in all regards, as you say.
