I have just posted the first article of a five part series on
selections and masks. The series starts off with the simpler methods
and progresses to more sophisticated ones. The article can be found on
my web at:

You always post here the links for your articles but I see low feedback from
everybody.

I'd like to take some time to tell you how useful your articles are being to
me. I'm trying to read all of them, and I've been able to find some real
good gems on how to better use photoshop. See, I've been a photoshop user
for many years, but lot's of features that I've never had the urge to know,
and following the examples of your articles, now I see how useful they are.

So thank you and keep on going with the good work.

Cheers

I find them quite useful, as well.

I am actually reading the "Posterization" article, and at some point you
mention that RAW has 16 times more tones than JPEG, but I don't understand
where you came to that number (maybe further down the article)

From my understanding, JPEG has 8 bits per channel, therefore each channel
is capable of producing 2^8 values (256 values). RAW has 16 bits per channel
right? Which gives 65536 bins. Divided by 256 (from JPEG), RAW gives
you.......

Bah, just forget it. Just found out that even though each channel uses a
word (16 bits), the camera ADC uses only 12 bits.... I thought about not
posting this message here, but my dumbness moment may help someone else...
