I read this forum via Google Groups. It normally has many messages in a
day but I haven't seen anything for a few days.

Either Google is screwed up or the forum is defunct - not sure which.

Any insight? Maybe this post is not really useful though - if anybody
responds I probably won't see the response. :-(

I'm seeing the same. There was a thread I wanted to send someone as link and
I can't find it.

Actually, I take it back - I was in the wrong group. I was searching
groups.google.com for the topic "Canon 5D vs. Medium Format" and it couldn't
find it. However if I browsed the group rec.digital.photo the thread was
right there on the second page of listings. Very strange why the search
didn't put it at the top of the results, if it's in the results at all.

Google Groups is a very poor interface to the world of Usenet
newsgroups.  Why not find out if your ISP has a server that carries
Usenet newsgroups and link to that with some software designed
specifically to access newsgroups?  Even if your ISP does not support
Usenet, there are free and inexpensive Usenet servers available from
anywhere in the world.

Microsoft Outlook Express supports Usenet newsgroups and is free. Free
Agent is (IMHO) far superior software and is also free.  It is much
better at organising and threading messages than Outlook Express.

If you like Free Agent and would like the greater power and
versatility of the full version (Agent 4.0) you can upgrade at modest
cost.  More information here:

http://www.forteinc.com/

Your enjoyment of this newsgroup may well increase out of all
proportion to the effort needed to download the software and log on to
your ISP's news server.

I believe Forte have stopped distributing the free version of Agent now   ?

You're right.  What a pity.  From the forteinc.com site:

"Free Agent

Forté has offered Free Agent for more than 10 years. With the release
of Agent 4.0 we have decided to retire Free Agent and focus on
providing Agent customers with exciting new features and timely
upgrades. "

I read NGs via OE when I'm at home. Don't usually bother with reading them
while at work.
However, I do have a bookmark for the NG for Quicken via Google and I
noticed that it was out of date yesterday.

Meanwhile, I know I read somewhere that Google had some tech problems over
the weekend. That would explain why posts aren't showing up in Google in a
timely fashion.
