What next...? What is next is a Samsung sensor. When Samsung and Pentax signed their long term co-operation agreement, Pentax has already signed up for the Sony sensors. I thought Sony and Samsung had a clear agreement - Sony gets to share Samsung large LCD screen tech and manufacturing (Samsung is now making screens for Sony), Samsung get to use Sony large scale CCD sensors. The Sony/Samsung agreement is quite separate to that between Samsung and Pentax. The publicity attached to the Samsung/Pentax agreement made an explicit statement that Samsung would be contributing future sensors and electronics while Pentax would contribute optics and "SLR technology". |
