Cleaning sensor

I bought the cleaning kit with swabs etc for the D70 & got rid of most of
the dust. But in the sky top right of the photos are 5 spots , does that
mean that the dust is on the top right of the sensor or is the image turned
by the lens.

That would be on the sensor. You can try rubbing alcohol and even
scrubbing a bit with water. Also I found that it's important to blow and
or brush out the whole area before cleaning with swabs. Sensor brush
that is. And often takes more than one pass. I assume you've cleaned
more than once and the 5 spots have not moved?

Obviously I didn't get the point. I'm not certain if the image is
flipped or not, I think it probably is upside down & backward.

What's wrong with your newsreader?

The image on the sensor is upside down compared to what you see. Rotate the
camera 180 and you should be able to see the offending grit if you look
carefully under the right light.
