Has anybody had problem with the aperture on their e500? Mine is 3
months old and I'm on the second body. Both seem to have developed an
intermittent fault which prevents me from manually adjusting the
aperture, not sure if it affects in fully auto or A mode. The back
screen and viewfinder display simply show -.- where the aperture should
be. Also, - in playback mode there is no F number shown on the image
data.

Any insight gratefully received.

Thanks Hugh

I've had this problem once only - in this case, the problem was dust or
dirt on the electronic contacts either on the bajonett or on the lens
mount. I don't know it exactly, because in my case the failure was gone
after removing and remounting the lens.
Take a cotton swab e.g., soaked with isopropyl alcohol, and clean the
contact pins at the bajonett as well as at the lens mount.
Maybe that helps.
