My Rebel XT has been back twice and the lens three times for service.
The RIGHT side of the frame is soft focus compared to the left. I have
explained this in great detail and have even sent pictures. I don't
think their techs even read or looked at any of it, because the camera
still has the same problem. I have had several different lenses on this
camera and it is not the lens. I am convinced it is a defective sensor
since their techs did focus adjustments. They want me to send it in for
a third time and I am sure I'll get the same results. It seems like they
are taught basic alignment and setup but are not capable of even
acknowledging other more serious problems. Since they can not fix the
problem I asked for a replacement camera, which they refused. I don't
know what I will do since it is not a major problem but I find myself
having to sharpen the right side of the frame more on some shots. I love
the camera and am not suggesting anyone not buy Canon, just don't expect
much from tech support and hope you get one that has no problems.
I really thought they would replace the camera, just to keep a customer
happy, since there are so many good cameras out there. How much can the
camera cost them to make, a hundred dollars?

How about you complain to the source?
Contact Canons upper management, not the supervisors or other drones
that may not be interested enough to care about your satisfaction. Some
may, others may not.
You'll have to put some effort into it, but how much and to what level
of resolution you're after, is up to you.
