Some, like Olympus's OM standard 50mm prime lenses are amazingly good.
Even moderate zooms, but other times, watch out! When I showed this on
dpreview, some figured it could mostly be due to the lack of
parallelism of the light rays coming out the back of the Vivitar, which
violates the "law" that says sensors respond better to light rays
hitting them in the perpendicular. But IMO, the lens is just no good.
I've got a 24mm OM lens to use as a "standard" lens so it may provide
better results at that focal length.

Well gosh Rich, a Vivitar lens producing a poor image, who would have
thought that could happen??

They aren't all bad. I had a 70-210 that worked well, except it was
pretty heavy.
