I noted that Zeiss is now making some slr lens for Nikon. Are
those lens still made in Germany, and if so, where? I gather that the
Contact cameras are no longer made; but do you think that they might be
once again made? I think that Nikon copied Zeiss when it made cameras,
and that Canon copied Leica when it began to make cameras. Who, if any,
did Pentax copy when they began to make cameras?
Thanks,

The ZF lenses are being made by Cosina under Zeiss supervision. Frankly
they look cheap, none of the nice finish Contax lenses had. I would
really question if they were superior to Canon or Nikon lenses. They
may be good but so are the 50mms from most camera companies.

Everything you're seeking is right here:

Bottom line: Nikon met or exceeded the pseudo-Zeiss lenses.
They may SAY Zeiss, but they seem to have more of the characteristics of
Cosina--which has been making third-party lenses for decades.
Not worth the money.
