Ok, there's walmart and target for the family photos, but there must be some online service that you send your digital file and get a professionaly printed (no adjustments, border, big sizes, several types of paper, etc) photo, no? I've been using printroom.com for several years and like them very much. They print with no adjustment by default; you can have them not crop anything and include borders; they support ICC profiles so you don't have to butcher your images with sRGB; they have three paper choices in a wide variety of sizes. Many such places. I happen to like http://www.mpix.com of the sites I've tried. The sites http://www.ezprints.com and http://www.shutterfly.com were my 2nd and 3rd choices, but I haven't used them in awhile. On the same note, what is the maximum resolution these labs can process? I know that a 300dpi file gets a decent resolution, but what if I want to print (enlarge?) a file that has 1200dpi? I was looking at the 10x15 prints I make myself, and the Raw Shooter dpi value for that size. So, EL-CO Color's process (from their FAQ): *WHAT TYPE OF PRINTER ARE YOU USING? WE ARE PRINTING ON A DURST EPSILON LED 30. **ARE THESE PRINTS INKJETS? NO! WE ARE PRINTING ON SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC FUJI PROFESSIONAL CRYSTAL ARCHIVE II PAPER, PROCESSED IN FUJI PROFESSIONAL RA-4 CHEMISTRY * * WHAT RESOLUTION SHOULD I SET UP MY FILES AT? WE RECOMMEND LEAVING THIS ALONE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SET IT UP TO SIZE, IN THAT CASE 254DPI, _NO HIGHER!_* ....does the trick. I suspect I get by w/ 6mb because the D50 is reasonably low noise.
