circular polarizer filter for myNikon D70s

I have checked out the cost of three diferent circular polarizers for
my D70s and they range in price from $75.00 to $239.00. The most
expensive one is the BW brand. Hoya in the middle and Optex the
cheapest My question is, do you get what you pay for? How big is the
difference??

Good info there in the response from Roger N Clark. See his website for
more info.

I happen to use Hoya multicoated filters because they work very well and
are reasonably priced for what you get.

My advice would be to consider it in context. What lens are you sing, is it
the absolute best for the shot? How about exposure? Have you maximized that
or are you just letting the camera decide? Are you shooting handheld or off
a tripod? Place the choice of filter consistent within all the other
choices you make taking photos.

Given that, I use multicoated Hoyas, fwiw.
