Sony Alpha DSLR-A100K is rated 7.5/10 on CNET  and other reviews also
seem to have very good comments on Sony Alpha DSLR-A100K.

Has any one tried this first hand? Any opinions?

Cheers

With a POS cursory review like they did, how can they POSSIBLY
decimalize it
to "7.5?"  More like they could go 1-5 and say 4.  Truly pathetic.
They should stick to iPods and those little silver $200 cameras their
typical readers own.

So you DO have a camera after all.  Getting good results from your $200
silver camera Rich?

What stock photo website did you steal that from?

Couldn't you use your considerable charm to get the bugger to face the
camera then?

Given that it is based on the Maxxum 5D, it is "crippled" wrt usability.
Otherwise (by spec) an excellent start for Sony.

I want to see if Sony do a "serious" DSLR before upgrading my Maxxum 7D.

They should aim for a Maxxum 9 class DSLR with 12 Mpix or better and a
crop factor of less than 1.5 (say 1.2 - 1.3 or even 1.)  That would be a
respectable machine and I'd even be happy if they dropped the A/S in
exchange for the spec above.

Cheers,
Alan.
