Can anyone give me some tips about the Smartdrive FCD20 hard drive?  I
can't get the drive to mount in my computer.  It is holding 13 gigs of
pictures.

I'm getting a little nervous.

thanks

If your PhotoChute fails to mount, try the Y cable (plugs into two USB ports
simultaneously, presumably to draw more power).

If THAT doesn't work, "you will need to use a different computer."

It's possible that you may also have a drive letter conflict, which is
addressed at the URL above.

(And, just like an iPod, make sure that you always "eject" the device before
removing or unplugging it from your computer.)

I don't have such a cable.  I didn't even see this on the website.  The
device only draws 100 ma out of a possible 500 ma according to windoze.

I tried plugging it into power supply as the manual suggests.
