Test drove a Nikon 80-400, seems rather noisy, anyone else have the same
experience. Also tried a Sigma 50-500, very quiet and fast but this lens was
stiff, anyone used the Sigma 80-400?

I don't know if there is more than one 80 - 400 mm zoom Nikon lens, but the
one I purchased about a week ago,  the 80 - 400 mm f/4.5 - 5.6D ED AF
Zoom-Nikor makes quite a lot of noise, now that you mentioned it.  I would
have to say that it is even loud. It will be interesting to find out if this
is normal.

Have on too, yes it makes a sound when trying to focus but that is of
no importance in my opion.  Now if we could have a silent shutter.
