I found all your comments educational and helpful. I really enjoy this
news group, it's a great resource to me. I ended up clicking on the red
button on the Dell page. I felt in the end, that I would have an easier time
shifting my PC business software over to another one.
Thanks again,
Steve

Dell is a great choice. My PC was homemade, but my laptop is a Dell. I
hope you took advantage of the many coupons that are available
http://www.xpbargains.com/dell_coupons/ There are other sites that and
catalog coupons.

I hope you are NOT planning on buying a Crap er I mean Dell yes they do make
a good computer for the money but hope for your sake that it never dies,
because getting them fixed is a pain in the butt. I'm the IT director for
the company I work for and I had one that took me six months to get repaired
they kept telling me the part is on the way and it never showed up.
So when ever anyone asks me what computer to buy I tell all anything but a
Dell......

Hmmm, a company I do business with uses Dell everytime they had a call in
to Dell regarding the hdwe their techs were there the next day, parts
in-hand, rather amazing to me given all the notebooks they produce.

Yep, Dell's on-site is second to none. Had a pallet of damaged laptops that
had warranty left on them and they came out and fixed them no questions
asked.
