Newbie with D-50 looking for the straight goods on extension tubes for the
D-50.
Nikon seems to say that the D-50 is not supported.
I looked elsewhere and found the AF Extension Tube Set 12/20/36mm Nikon
Digital & Analog from Soligor.

Perhaps someone can fill in some of the gaps in my knowledge.

I used extension tubes many years ago with considerable success.

The Kenko AF extension tube set for Nikon seems to be the one people
are interested in. You can find them on eBay for $100-120 new.  They're
designed for AF-D and AF-S lenses.

I concluded that autofocus was not very important. Close-ups snap into
focus anyway and a slight mistake with the autofocus spot can give you
a large focus error. I wound up buying a used 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor
AI-S and have beeen very happy with it.
