I recommend Imagemagick tools because they run on a variety of
operating systems, they're easy to batch (at least on Linux with a
scriptable shell) and they are free. Google "Imagemagick watermark" an
you'll get a number of examples for how to do this.

Recent issue of POPULAR PHOTO had a quick way to do it in Photoshop. No
other software necessary.
