Isn't that rather advanced for the average DL owner? - might I suggest that
you start with something more basic, like 'Turning The Camera On - part 1'

You are called Pentax Fan and you suggest that the average Pentax owner
needs help turning the bugger on?
How do you manage to use a newsgroup reader I wonder?

Since you are (presumably) a woman, I'll remain patient and explain my
post...........(sigh)

The DL is the latest incarnation of the original *ist D - a series of
cameras that has gone downhill faster than Jack, after he and his
life-partner went up to get a pail of water.

The 'D' was good - far better, in fact, than is commonly supposed.  The Ds
was fairly adequate, and the DL was aimed firmly at the soccer mom crowd -
which, given its target market, is an excellent reason to produce a DVD
dedicated to operating the on-off switch.... (perhaps, after a couple of
instructional movies about the best way of removing the camera from its
packaging)

Don't be afraid Ian - it's quite safe to make fun of wimmin, I won't let you
get a kicking from any fat  'femminists' (sic) in their heavy boots.

So, come out from underneath that table, there's a brave lad.

You patronising bastard.
Don't explain a thing, I'm plonking you forthwith you heap of donkey turd.
Good luck learning to turn your poxy cheapo camera on.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what we in the TRA call a
'bull's-eye'.................William Tell, eat your heart out!

Helen, why not tell him what you really think?

I sincerely hope you're right in one respect there Irwell.  I should hate it
so much if the pentax fan were a female.  But I doubt that - we have much
better taste than to be fans of the pentax pretence, the make which
apparently even fans thereof find difficulty just turning on, as evidenced
by his earlier request for some help with.

Your indignation is oddly arousing! - one could, in fact, say that you are
turning *me* on.

Are you expensive?

replonk!
Take the hint a.shole.  I have unlimited space in my killfile.  So stop
wasting your time and mine.  Even polson has seen the light and stopped
changing his address every five minutes.  Haven't read one of his in ages.

The sheer pomposity of some Usenet participants never ceases to amaze me! -
really, it doesn't!

Do you *really* think, even in your most wildly deluded moments, that I
actually care what you read, or don't read?!! - you are, in my opinion, a
self-important little Toad, that appears to believe it owns Usenet, and can
dictate the actions of others using the medium.

Personally, I have no doubt that your killfile is absolutely immense - but
not, I fear, as large as your ego.

Now, hop away quietly, there's a good Toad - lest I get out the pins and
start dissecting you for idle amusement.

yes.  or else you wouldn't have changed your name again to get round my
killfile.  you obviously care alot.  oh and guess wot, now you've got to do
it again.

Correction, I haven't changed my name.

Pentax Fan I am, and Pentax Fan will I remain - a devotee of one of the Nips
greatest miniaturised marvels.

What's more, when Mr Ashai releases his 10mp masterpiece later this year,
the group will be filled with Pentax disciples, all swaggering and crowing,
and upsetting Canon owners who secretly long for 10mp themselves.....

Happy times is a-comin'

Can you *really* not distinguish between a name and an email address?!!! -
your astounding ignorance adds weight to the calls for some sort of test
being
mandatory before people are let loose on the internet!

You'll be telling me that you've got a driving licence, next!.......

Should be "Asahi", shouldn't it?

Personally, I've already got 10mp -- Nikon D200.  Canon owners, it's
true, can't get 10mp; poor lost souls.  They have to make do with 16mp
instead; or sometimes 12.7mp.  Tragic for them.  I don't see how they
manage to bear up.

That'd be nice.

Yes, the more the merrier. Competition- It's a good thing, says Martha.

And pixel envy will be with us for some time, I'll bet a Gig.

It could well be marketed as a Samsung. Many in the industry believe
Pentax's name will be swallowed up as Samsung.

I guess you'll change your name to Samsung Fan.

I also think that Samsung will become the dominant partner in the merger -
how does Samfan sound?

This is simply a sample of the two DVD set we have availble to
purchase.  The DVD does start out talking about how to turn the camera
on, and ends with you knowing every feature and function availble on
the camera.
