are hazardous to your mental health.  This bozo gleans sensational and
controversial snippets from the Internet and regurgitates them here for ego
gratification.  He has the mind of a termite but also has the attending
destructive capabilities.  He might own a digital camera, but probably does
not.  He feeds on human gullibility.  He is the south end of a north-bound
horse.

What you see is the first step in the process.
Naming someone in a subject line.
Next comes cyberstalking.

There's a big difference between cyberstalking and public service
announcements.  And, no, the lame trolls you put up aren't public service
announcements but Charles' post sure was.

I have to admit ... that made me laugh!

What I don't know is why there are people still stupid enough to reply
to it. That sort of deviant personality thrives on any sort of
attention, especially negative. I've been dealing with net-trolls since
the late 80s, and the best thing to do is shun them.

It is characteristic of human nature to shun that which does not provide
stimulus.
Clearly, some find his posts stimulating.

Unfair.  Without our dear boys Rich and RichA, our roving cub reporters, how
would those of us who keep up with digital photography news ever know when
somebody has posted something or if there's a new news item or review on
DPReview.com? I mean, I'm sure no photographer in their right mind ever
looks at DPReview, so thank goodness the Riches have the time and the
kindness to draw our attention to this obscure and largely unknown website.

Absolutely right Helen. Not only do they plumb the depths of
the internet (well, dpreview anyhow) but selflessly act as
decoys in these newsgroups to attract the attacking hoardes
away from more valuable targets. If I was in charge I'd give
them a (virtual) medal then otherwise ignore them, but since
I'm not in charge I just do the ignore bit.

But, but, John! You were elected last night .... so you *are* in charge.

<s>

But what are the more valuable targets currently? There are a couple of
guys I can think of who are extraordinarily narrow minded and quick to
attack others whose views might diverge from their own (not real
unusual, huh?), but they are also knowledgeable and often cogent, so I
won't nominate them.

After three years of therapy my psychiatrist said something that brought
tears to my eyes.  He said, "No hablo inglés, Señor."

Then I resign!

Everybody else...

If Rich/RichA is hazardous to your mental health, I know of a bunch of
other posters (in other newsgroups) who must be mentally lethal.  Don't
waste your time complaining about or arguing with him.

You are, of course, absolutely right.  I just have to learn to ignore some
folks.  Thanks Austin.
