Can you use a Minolta flash on a Nikon?

I have old minolta stuff I wont use anymore, and want to use nikon. Can I use
the old flash unit?

You have to be careful.  The trigger voltage on some older flashes is on the
high side and could possibly damage your Nikon DSLR.

Possibly a pre-AF era flash.  The Maxxum/Dynax camera flash shoe is very
different than the de-facto standard.  There are adaptors to use a
Maxxum on a "standard" shoe but you'll limited to manual flash power
settings.

Better to get the OEM flash in any case, esp. for digital cameras.
