I've seen quite a few body-only 350D's on sale marketed as 'B-Grade
Stock' or 'Factory Refurb', and I'm wondering if this is due to
specific reliability issues with this camera, or just the fact that
it's so popular, and naturally there's more of them sold to go wrong?

Aside from a minor firmware bug that was fixed with a firmware upgrade
last year, I don't know of any reliability issues.
And I'm not just a user, I own the camera.

No problems with mine at all, had it for almost 9 months now an 7000+
pictures taken with it an it's still as good as the day I bought it.
