You know that Sony Bravia advert (presuming its a global campaign) of all
the coloured balls bouncing down some street in San Francisco? I presumed it
was all CGI right from the word go. Looking closely at the advert only
confirmed my suspicions in my own mind.
Anyway. Turns out it's not. 170,000 bouncy balls. 20 odd cameras - one take.
It's a shame that I've become so jaded by technology that when someone does
something really special and creative like that, that you automatically
think it's CGI. To me it's a truly beautiful advert too. Loved it.

Too bad Sony has taken over the "Most Evil Corporation on the Planet" title.

I know. And me a hitman!
I have no problem chopping of a mark's genitals with bolt cutters, or giving
someone a 'Colombian Necktie', but the imagination, and creativity and
craft and care taken in the making of these beautiful images makes me all
misty eyed.

Yes, 'twas good to see, I agree, and thanks for the expose. I too thought it
was CGI.

Funny to hear someone covering "The Knife" already, too... i'd swear Deep

It's been shown. If I recall correctly, it was first shown during some
live footie match on ITV at half time - the full version. Must have
cost Sony a whack in fees to totally command *all* the prime ad space
that night. It has been shown a few times since then, in full and short
versions. Quite boring after the first viewing - and I bet very view
even remember what it was for.

Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed;

Fair 'nough, I don't watch telly that much so must have missed it. See
what you mean about it becoming boring, but the first time was good!

The Super Ball has to be the greatest, coolest and simplest toy ever made.

Yes.
I've seen a 'making of...' this advert. People had to hide behind cars not
to get hit by the avalanche of balls.
