At the risk of being flamed by some here who will describe this as the
'ultimate chimp', I have a question. Has anyone here used a product
like this one - http://tinyurl.com/9a7t4 - to review the shots they've
taken in the field? I will readily admit to being a learning
photographer, not a pro-caliber shooter, and I'd like to know if I've
screwed up in the field and need to retake a shot. I don't have or want
a laptop since I'm frequently on foot or two wheels, but since this
device has true VGA resolution, I'm thinking it might provide an
adequate view of the photos I've taken with my D70. I'm looking for
constructive advice, not a bunch of harping from people who don't like
my approach.

640x480 is only somewhat larger than the D70 LCD. Can this be hooked up
by video-out? That way you'd get the same image as the LCD without
having to take the card out and no delay. I've done the laptop tether
thing and that is great, though akward and slow.

With respect to what? Must be composition, because the D70 provides more
tools, histogram and blinking highlights to check metering. You can also
zoom in a bit on the lcd display on the back of the camera. I don't see how
a VGA screen provides enough to make it worthwhile.

I'm aware of the histogram and all of the other effects, this isn't a
thought of this capability replacing the D70 LCD, but rather it's larger
screen offering me a better view of what I've shot

I don't understand how this is timely. You have to stop and dl the photos
to the unit and it only reads jpegs, so shooting raw is out.
What ever floats your boat.
