I am looking at an used lens :
ALBINAR ADG 80-200mm 1:3.9 MACRO ZOOM LENS (Nikon mount)

Has anybody used it with D70 cameras ?

I want to get into Macro photography and this one is very very very
cheap.

Let me know.

Thanks
Somnath

It is cheap 'cause it is a cheap off brand lens. Don't believe lenses,
especially zoom lenses that say "Macro". True macro zoom lenses are
rare,  Nikon makes a 70-180mm that costs just under $1000, that is the
only one on the market now. Find a used Tamron 90mm AF macro used. Will
cost a little more than the lens you are looking at but will give you
very nice pics.

A lot more I suspect, there is a couple of pretty good zoom macros out
there one that comes to mind is the Sigma 70-300mm DG APO, very nice and
surprisingly sharp. That said the Tamron 90mm is one of the best of any
brand out there.

How is the "Sigma Normal 50mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Autofocus Lens for
Nikon AF"  ?
Very expensive though. It has Magnification 1:1 and minimum focus
distance of 7.4" .

Found that Tamron 90mm is more expensive as well.

Sigma 70-300mm is within range but its not 1:1 magnification.

Thank you for the input.
