I am lucky enough to have a loan of a D2X for a few days which is
great-BUT- it's driving me insane!!!
Can anyone (pleeeease) help me out, I want to use my SB800 as a remote
flash on the D2X but I can't figure out how!!!! Is it maybe not
possible?
The instructions manual for both the camera and flash are no help to me
at all!

You can't do it with only one SB800 on a D2X.  You need at least two
flashes, one to be mounted on the camera (must be SB800) and one as a
remote (can be SB800 or SB600).

According to this, it can't be done on the D2X

That's interesting.  My D70 built-in flash will trigger my SB800 as a
wireless slave.

But the D2X has no built in flash.

Ok, it looks like the on camera unit can be an SB800 or an SU800.  Both will
give wireless flash with the D2X.
