Finally getting around to posting some photos from my summer vacation. By
no means have these been culled to just the best. Given that, criticism as
to what shots to omit would be appreciated.

Wow, I was at Lassen in August of 1998 and all the hiking trails on the
mountain were still under 20 ft of snow.  We played in the snow rather than
hike.  I'm surprised with all the snow we got last winter that you didn't
encounter the same thing.  I have a very similar shot to this:

but the meadow is covered with snow and there is a snowbridge over the
creek.

This was Aug 23rd. Would love to see it if you could post it.

We were there for a couple of days around the 18th of August 1998, towards
the end of a 3 week trip up the coast to Redwoods Natl Park and Olympic Natl
Park, to Vancouver, across to Banff/Jasper, and down through Glacier and
Lassen.  Hardly any snow in Banff and Glacier, which are much further north,
but we get back to California and there's still 20 ft of snow and ice on the
pond.  We got some  great but lucky shots because I knew zero about cameras
then.  Unfortunately they're all film and I don't have a scanner yet.  If I
have a chance to get them online soon I'll let you know.

Oh, yeah, on that same 1998 trip we had gone to Mt St Helens towards the
beginning and it was cool comparing the recovery of a volcano that went off
25 years ago with one that went off 90 years ago.

4,5,6,8 are culls.  7 is okay for a snapshot.

I like the rest.  There are a couple of real keepers! 2,10,12,13 are
very nice.

Thanks for taking a look.I agree, some of the shots were just snaps fro
others on the trip. Also, it wasn't obvious there were other galleries
linked from the menu only. I've culled a few of the shots and redid the
pages so they are least linked together from the first gallery with a
slight change to the original page location.

I looked through the other album pages.  There are many fine images!
You could have gone for a slower shutter for more dramatic effect on
some of the waterfall shots, but that may be a bit over-used anyway.

Your photos are beautiful, and your photo album nicely presented.

It is difficult to go wrong when beginning with Lassen as subject matter.

I also very much liked your Assateague Island shots as I live about 10
miles from there in Temperanceville.

Happy New Year and happy shooting.

Glad you liked them.To be honest, I was sucking wind so didn't want to
think of trying much lower shutter speeds. Also, my Archos Gmini220 failed
and hosed over 30% of the photos I took on this trip. Fixed under warranty,
but that doesn't help the loss of all the panos I took. AI was the
definitely the best part of the drive down the Eastern Shore after X-mas
last year given the snow and one of my most enjoyed photo outings to date.
But it was COLD!

Best to you the coming year as well.

Why not drop the Camera Make from the attributes below each thumbnail?  It's
covered by the Camera Model attribute.

Just using the stock template in Jalbum and too lazy to change it until I
settled on using Jalbum for good.  Fixed now. Also consolidated the
multiple galleries and tossed a few shots.
