The difference is 2D. :) Focus modes are different. The 7D has no scene modes. Burst capability is increased on the 7D. Viewfinder is better on the 7D. There is more ... SignatureThomas T. The main difference is that the 5D is lighter and lacks dedicated controls for the advanced features. See e.g. http://reviews.designtechnica.com/review3189_main15953.html I bought the 7D two weeks ago and I like it - the 'one knob per feature' is very nice and it just fits into my hands. I don't mind the added weight - the better lens are not light either and whether the result weights 2.0 or 2.15 kg is not significant. For example flash compensation, preset or manual white balance (vs. auto) and better metering controls - also, it has the better focus control switch (A,S,C,MF) as well as the AF/MF button by your right thumb on the back. The 7D is a good deal heavier, btw, than the film Maxxum/Dynax 7 -- just the 7D is about the same weight as my Maxxum 7 with the grip and 4AA batteries. That does get to one other benefit of the 7D - there is a vertical grip for it, so you can use NiMH AA batteries as well, plus you get the extra controls. >Both are 6mp camera's. What are the differences between the two camera's? Body layout is a big difference. The 7D has more options in a semi-pro body. The 5D is simpler. The 7D has a LCD protector. The 5D doesn't. There are capture mode differences I think also. The 7D is built stronger and bigger. The 5D is lighter for the amateur photographer and "ideal for travel". I bought the 7D because I liked the features and the feel of it. |
