As mentioned here a few weeks ago, my D70 (two years old) was cycling thru various shutter speed and
aperture settings whenever I turned it on or restarted the meter (7 second default shutdown time).
I sent the camera to the Melleville, NY, Nikon service center for repair.
Got it back last week. They replaced the metering FPC (?), adjusted the auto focus operation (which
I hadn't realized was bad), performed a general check and cleaning, *and* cleaned the CCD -- all at
NO CHARGE!
They've earned my loyalty!

I've been following a thread on DPreview and this is an example of Olympus
service.

I suppose this is one reason why Nikon has such loyal customers.
