I thought only Nikons and Canons had this problem.

Hah!  So what you are saying is that all SLRs all have a dust problem?  Hah!

I have question.  Why does sensor dust only show up as symmetrical
round spots and what else (other than dust) has appeared on camera
sensors?

I'm not shocked a store demo would have this problem. Probably had lots of
lens changes with dead camera batteries so the "dust buster" wasn't
activated after the changes. I know several times I've been to astore to
check out cameras the batteries were all dead...

Yowza that's scarey. I wouldn't want anyone touching my cam if they
don't have experience. He could send the Olympus camera to Canon if its
like that. Even though it's a Canon repair center, they repair any model
of camera, but you'll have to pay for it.

It is very unusual. I got an E-1 10 months ago, and I'm a serial lens
changer in the wilds with a big collection of old Zuiko lenses. Only
once in that time have I seen a dust speck, and it went when the camera
shook itself as I shut down and started up again.

Well, I've shot about 70 weddings with my E1,  and no dust spots yet.   I
doubt I could do this with a Nikon or Canon DSLR.

But,  I did buy a 20D (already have lenses from my Canon SLR system) for
shooting in churches without flash.  I plan to put a 50mm f1.8 on it and
leave it there.
