Pentax dslr (1stDL) and flash selection

Is there any worthwhile alternative to the Pentax 360 flash?
I looked at Digi-slave and other Vititar/Sigma alternative. None of
them
had positive review.
Any guru in here can enlighten me ? Or it is just a wishful thinking
that the cheapie slave flash can be as good as the dedicated (and
pricier one) flash?
I shall be using the flash as for fill-in purpose.

The *ist DL has a built-in flash you can use for fill-in. Maybe it's not
bright enough for what you need, however.

What's wrong with the 360?
